Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Inner Grove Collective?
The Inner Grove Collective is a network of facilitators, clinicians, and artists designing experiences that help people reconnect…with themselves, with others, and with the living world. Our work weaves ceremony, neuroscience, and storytelling together to create grounded, transformative spaces for growth and belonging.
What does “Inner Grove” mean?
It’s both a metaphor and a practice. Just as trees in a forest are connected through hidden mycelial networks, we, too, are linked through relationships and shared stories. Our work helps people remember and tend to those living connections—within themselves, with one another, and with the more-than-human world.
About Magic Nights
What Is a Magic Night?
Magic Nights is our signature framework for guided transformation. Each experience moves through four stages:
Private Reflection: This guided intake process helps to clarify your intentions and what’s alive for you.
Group Welcome and Grounding: We’ll come together in safety and shared purpose.
Inward Journey: A facilitated inner exploration (sometimes medicinally supported), guided by neuroscience, somatic awareness, and ceremonial design.
Integration Meal + Conversation: Sharing insights and anchoring what’s been learned in a communal space.
Is Magic Nights Psychedelic-Assisted?
Some Magic Nights are, some aren’t. The framework itself is adaptable. Magic Nights can involve both medicinally supported journeys (within legal parameters) and non-psychedelic relational or reflective experiences. What defines Magic Nights are intentional arc-safety, curiosity, connection, and integration.
Understanding Integration
What Is Integration?
Integration is the process of making meaning from what you’ve experienced—translating insight into embodied change. After an inward journey, new understandings often emerge: about yourself, your relationships, or how you move through the world. Integration helps these insights take root through reflection, conversation, and action. It’s where your “real life” and “inner life” truly begin to align.
Why is integration so important?
We consider integration to be so important because the experience itself is only the spark. The work of transformation begins afterward. Our Integration Sessions help support neuroplasticity (your brain’s ability to form creative, new connections) and helps you stabilize new emotional, cognitive, and relational patterns. Without integration, we find that insights can remain fleeting. With it, they become a living part of who you are.
The Science Behind the Ceremony
What happens in the brain during these experiences?
During deep reflection or medicinally supported journey’s your brain’s Default Mode Network (DMN)—the system most directly involved in self-referential thought and habitual patterns—becomes less dominant. This allows you to form new neural connections and leaves a place for fresh perspectives to emerge. It’s why people so frequently describe feeling “unlocked,” or “connected” and “free from old stories” after these experiences.
What do you mean by “open window”?
After an immersive experience, the mind enters a state of heightened neuroplasticity—a kind of open window, where change and learning can come a lot more easily. It’s this period of increased sensitivity and creativity, where old patterns can become far less rigid and new, healthy ones can be consciously shaped. Inner Grove experiences are designed to honor that window, guiding you to a place where you can tend it wisely.
Readiness, Trauma, and Support
What if I have a history of trauma or adverse childhood experiences (ACEs)?
Many people who are drawn to this work carry histories of loss, neglect, or trauma, and it’s important that we’re all comfortable enough to approach this terrain with care. Our facilitators are trained to recognize trauma responses and create environments that emphasize choice, safety, and regulation.
However, if you are currently in a state of crisis or find yourself experiencing severe anxiety, depression, or symptoms of post-traumatic stress that are interfering with your daily life, a deeper level of clinical support may be more appropriate for you. We can help you identify your ideal next steps, or connect you with trauma-informed therapists and programs that can effectively meet you where you are.
How do I know if this is the right kind of experience for me right now?
If you feel stable enough to self-reflect, hold your own emotions with curiosity, and integrate the insights you’ve gathered after the experience is over, you may very well be ready! If you’re still in active recovery from trauma or are navigating an intense period of instability, we might recommend working first in a therapeutic clinical setting before exploring immersive experiences like those offered at the Inner Grove Collective.
Is there follow-up or referral support available?
Absolutely! We offer integration resources, and can refer any participants to trauma-informed clinicians for continued support, whenever needed. Our goal is always to help you access the right kind of care, whether that be with us or with someone else.
Safety, Facilitation, and Offerings
What kinds of experience does the Inner Grove offer?
We currently offer two primary pathways for engagement:
Integration Services are one-on-one or couple sessions that focus on meaning-making and embodiment after significant experiences (psychedelic or otherwise). These sessions help you process insights, regulate your nervous system, and translate your inner growth into your daily life. Integration can stand alone or serve as a type of follow-up support after a Magic Night.
Magic Nights are our signature small-group framework for guided transformation. These evenings combine private reflection, group grounding, an inward journey, and shared integration over a meal. These events are designed for anyone seeking a relational, ceremonial experience within a safe and professionally facilitated space.
Who leads the experience?
Each offering is guided by a small team of facilitators, each one offering a background in psychology, somatic awareness, neuroscience, narrative work, and ceremonial design. Depending on the format, your session may include licensed clinicians, integration coaches, or creative facilitators—all chosen for their ideal alignment with the experience’s focus. Every facilitator shares a commitment to compassion, safety, and integrity.
Is this therapy?
Our work is therapeutic in its effect, but it is categorically not psychotherapy. Inner Grove experiences are designed for personal growth, connection, and meaning-making. When clinical oversight is needed—for instance, in our medicinally supported work—licensed professionals will be involved to ensure everyone’s safety and our total compliance with all legal and ethical guidelines.
Participation and Belonging
Who are these experiences for?
Inner Grove experiences are ideal for individuals, couples, and small groups who feel called to reconnect with purpose, with each other, or with the larger web of life. Many of our participants are navigating transitory periods in their lives, find themselves seeking clarity, or are simply wanting to live life with more openness and a greater sense of meaning.
Do I need previous experience with psychedelics or ceremony?
Not at all. Some guests are seasoned explorers; others are entirely new to this work. We meet each person where they are.
What happens afterward?
Integration continues well beyond your event. We’ll offer you follow-up conversations, resources, and ongoing community gatherings that are designed to help you stay connected to the lessons you’ve learned and to each other.
Staying Connected
How can I participate?
You can join our private mailing list to receive invitations to our upcoming gatherings. Because our experiences are intentionally small and personally oriented, this is the best way to be included.
Can I collaborate or bring a group?
Absolutely. We occasionally partner with other facilitators, organizations, and couples who are interested in co-creating bespoke experiences.
